Skywalker came from the race track in St. Thomas, a nearby Caribbean island. The race track became defunct after the hurricanes Irma and Maria. Skywalker’s owner called, saying he could no longer afford his feed and upkeep and was planning on euthanizing that evening if Skywalker wasn’t picked up. When Skywalker first arrived, he wasn’t pleasant to handle. Years of abuse had taken its toll on him and he no longer trusted people. Working slowly and patiently, the team at Redemption Ranch has brought out the best in Skywalker. He is now used for therapeutic riding, equine assisted healing, and his true passion – taking riders for swims in the ocean!
